Who is your customer?
ProFile's primary customers are parents of aspiring athletes, athletes from little league to high school, college, minor league, majors, European and beer league - starting with baseball, but expanding to all sports. Secondary markets are Coaches, Scouts and team management in the pros and college level. Tertiary markets are fans, and fantasy league enthusiasts.
What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?
ProFile replaces three expensive and antiquated technology solutions all-in-one elegant and user-friendly design. Currently score keeping and analysis is done using a software product called InsideEdge, but it is buggy and sometimes inaccurate. InsideEdge has been slow to make needed adjustments and would need a major re-design to compete with ProFile. Video analysis is done using DartFish an expensive and overly complex video service and Scout Advisor (based on Lotus Notes) is out of date, and cumbersome to use. Team are frustrated with the lack of options and are tired of paying exorbitant licensing fees every other year totaling well over $100,000 per renewal.
What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?
The major difference and what will attribute to the success of ProFile is that the interface design was guided by the coaches and scouts that use it the most, in professional baseball. Also, ProFile will be the only software solution offering verifiable stats endorsed by coaches and respected third party experts, such as Krush Hitting. ProFile is also an all-in-one solution, offering interactivity, communication, historical data, statistical analysis and video comparison.
Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?
ProFiles advantage in the market place is providing a solution that was created for baseball professionals, under the guidance of baseball power users, and will be distributed by a team of ex-athletes utilizing all their contacts and influence. These relationships will open the doors to the major league which will lend ProFile the credibility to sell to the masses of high school and aspiring college players hoping to make a career of the sport they love.
