WINNING DIABETICS™
Abstract
WINNING DIABETICS™ is an online resource offering food & fitness tips, recipes and motivational stories for and by diabetics and prediabetics. The company is currently developing the 'WINNING DIABETICS™ 3-Point mHealth Action Plan', a telemedicine program for diabetes and prediabetes management that facilitates 'Patient-Provider Proactivity' by incorporating healthy food and fitness solutions into the patients' lifestyle with the use of pcs, as well as Smartphone & Android mobile applications.
The WINNING DIABETICS™ 3-Point mHealth Action Plan consists of the following:
1. The first multi-lingual social network for diabetics and pre-diabetics. The social network is linked to the WINNING DIABETICS™ member’s Meetup and Fouresquare accounts, which facilitates the creation of WINNING DIABETICS™ ‘Power Health’ micro meetings for WINNING DIABETICS™ members (account sign-up is free).

WINNING DIABETICS™ was founded by and is 100% owned by Elizabeth Mwanga. In 2007, Ms. Mwanga was diagnosed with Type 1.5 diabetes. At 5’1 and 205 lbs. Ms. Mwanga was morbidly obese and nearly died of complications from diabetic ketoacidosis, a severe acute form of diabetes. After 19 months of diet and exercise, most notably learning how to cook healthy diabetic meals and practical fitness into her daily routine, she was able to lose 100 lbs. and since 2009 has been medication free. Transforming her body and health awakened Ms. Mwanga to the realization that she must share her gifts and talents with other diabetics. It is with this driving force that WINNING DIABETICS™ was created and now is poised to become a leading brand in the international market of diabetic products and services for diabetics of all income levels.
